On February 4th, as scheduled, the expansion of i2basque´s secondary connection with RedIRIS was successfully completed at the EJIE/I2BEJI node, increasing its capacity from 2x10Gbps to 1z100Gbps. This upgrade, along with the expansion of the primary link carried out las week, strengthens the resilience of our infrastructure against potential saturation problems, which have occasionally occurred in the past due to the growing volume of incoming/outgoing traffic from affiliated institutions.

Currently, both links with RedIRIS have a capacity of 100Gbps each, ensuring that in the event of a disruption in one link, the other can handle the network’s total traffic. Both links are now operating normally.
