RedIRIS has already put into production its new network equipment that will allow 100Gbps links. From i2basque we have started with the migration of our 2 links with RedIRIS in the node of Leioa. At the moment, both will remain at 10Gbps, and in the short term, they will be expanded to 100Gbps.

This month was signed the contract that formalizes the acquisition of 111 new computing nodes with Infiniband connectivity, and 48 cores and 96GB RAM each one. These nodes will be incorporated to DIPC´s computing infrastructure and will be working soon.

The University of Deusto at its Bilbao campus has gone from one 1 Gbps connection to two 10 Gbps connections with BGP protocol, and is pending to make the same change at its campus in Donostia, ESTE.
